Motors & Electromagnetism Booklet

This book is intended to provide support for teachers of 11-16 science (particularly those who would not regard themselves as physics specialists) in teaching about motors and related aspects of electromagnetism. It provides ideas for practical activities, with specific references to new SEP practical resources that have been developed to support and enhance practical work with 11-16 science students. The teacher material provides basic background information related to the activities, and the ‘Classroom resources’ section contains photocopiable resources for students. The activities aim to provide students with an understanding of the key principles underlying everyday devices, to encourage a sense of wonder and curiosity about scientific phenomena, and to develop a better appreciation of the links between science, technology and society.
